Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Home Care For Seniors

Q: How much do your home care services for seniors cost?
Our rates are competitive and comply with the passing of the new overtime law in Connecticut, CCAH remains an affordable solution for “live-in care” needs.(*Our free in-home assessment will determine rate for specialized care*)

Q: What happes if I seen lower rates from other home care agencies & individuals advertising in the newspaper. Why shouldn’t I opt to pay less?
Compassionate Care at Home employs, trains and insures all staff members. Our agency goes through an extensive hiring process, including a comprehensive criminal background check. There is a huge difference between an agency that has you pay an “under the table” caregiver directly as an independent contractor – plus an agency fee.

Q: Is there a contract?
Yes. All non-medical home care agencies in Connecticut must be registered with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection requires all agencies to include a “Service Agreement” for each client.

Q: Does insurance or Medicare cover this service?
Most long-term care policies do cover our services; however, Medicare does not. Generally, this type of service is private pay. We are very familiar with other options which can help you, such as the Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders, the Aid and Attendance Pension for Veterans, and techniques such as reverse mortgages.
